My name is Connie Beattie and I am an artist that works mainly in watercolor and oils. I live in Calgary, Alberta with my husband and daughter.

I am a member of The Riverview Art Group and we hold seven or eight collective art shows per year in the Calgary area. I am also a member of the Calgary Chapter of the Night of Artists.

My journey into watercolors and oils started in black and white with charcoal portraits. A natural attraction to color lured me to the beauty of watercolor and then to oil, and still captures me to this day.

Painting brings a tranquility and peace into my life and I think my paintings reflect the pure joy I experience in creating them.

When I look out at the kaleidoscope of colors that awaits each of us every day, I can not express the magnificence of it in words, and so I try to capture the feeling with paint and paper. I am inspired by the world around me (near and far), and truly wish that my paintings might inspire others to look at that world a little more closely to see all of the amazing beauty that surrounds us.
